Slime at play group

This morning we had many curious children exploring the slime substance. Some children made hand prints in the slime and watched them disappear. Others scooped and poured the substance. Enjoying music

This afternoon the children from Village Kids Home Based care enjoyed a performance from the Hastings Intermediate school orchestra. We were the orchestra's first audience. We had the opportunity to see the different instruments up close and hear their sounds. Supporting our children's musical interest.

This story says it all 'My Face'

What a great way to learn about yourself, a very clever idea Natasha using the children's own photos therefore giving meaning to the learning experience.

Learning about 'me' at Natasha's

At Natasha's the children have been engaging in learning about who they are and their place in the wider world.  Through this learning programme the children become confident in identifying themselves, therefore gain a greater understanding  about their family and where they are from.  I can see the children have taken a real interest in developing their sense of belonging and well-being through the sharing of information from their whanau and with the fantastic support of their Educarer Natasha.
